REMINDERS FOR THE RING

One Message, Three Perspectives

At Icarus Equestrian, we believe the horse show experience should be about more than just ribbons and results. It’s about how we show up - as riders, as parents, as adult amateurs - and what we carry with us long after the final round.

That’s why we created “Reminders for the Ring” - a set of reflections written to support the people who make show days possible. It’s not a how-to guide or a rulebook. It’s a quiet nudge. A breath before the buzzer. A reminder of why we’re really here.

Whether you’re walking a course, standing at the in-gate, or sitting in the bleachers waiting to record a round, these pieces are written with you in mind.

What You’ll Find Inside:

  • A message for young riders, to remind them how brave they are for showing up, even on the hard days.

  • A message for parents, to acknowledge everything they do - often without recognition - and the impact they have that lasts far beyond the show ring.

  • A message for adult amateurs, who juggle real life with real goals and keep riding because the passion still matters.

Each message is meant to be read like a personal note. One that encourages grace, grit, and perspective.

How to Use It

Read it in the truck on the way to the show. Tape a copy inside your tack locker. Share it with a barn mate, a child or a parent who could use the reminder.

You can view it online or download the PDF version below.
